So this morning I had a headache after taking my final in microbiology lab, so I took two excedrin. Then I got really hyper here at the apartment all by myself and decided to take silly pictures. Here is the result of my madness:

My Weekend

Well there isn't much to say. Friday night was spent sitting in my dining room studying microbiology and the perforin-granzyme cytotoxic pathway of cell-mediated immunity. Doesn't that sound like a blast? Oh yeah, it was..... I always like to ask James if he wants to learn about what I'm studying and even if he says no (which he always does) I will still read him a definition or two. It always makes me laugh, but not him. Wanna help??


Today was actually pretty fun. James slept in while I watched my Saturday morning home improvement shows on HGTV. I can't get enough of that channel! Then we worked out, cleaned, went out to lunch, and saw BABY MAMA!! Yes, you read correctly, I actually went out to lunch today. Even though I am on a strict diet, I am still able to eat lunch as long as it healthy. I got shrimp and a salad and James got a full rack of ribs! He cracks me up. Oh and Baby Mama was incredible! I laughed out loud multiple times. I highly recommend it.

Then tonight we attended our first ever Catholic wedding. It was very interesting. Seriously, as soon as we sat down I couldn't stop thinking about how grateful I am for the church. I love having it in my life and it blesses me every day....even though I teach Sunday School to the 14 year-olds! :)

OK I asked James if he wants to add anything so here goes:

ps- This is James and I am getting ready to watch the Utah Jazz with a belly full of ribs, how can you argue against that?!? Two nights ago I had an epiphany as I lay prone on my carpet after Deron Williams of the Jazz got blocked to seal a loss. That watching the Jazz and the drama that comes along with following your favorite team is the best entertainment that exists. Nothing puts me on the edge of my seat quite like a close playoff game. I am excited when they win and devastated when they lose. YOU GOTTA LOVE IT BABY!

I Hope They Call Me On A Mission...

ok not me, but my bro-in-law Joel got his mission call yesterday!!! He is going to be serving in the Columbus, Ohio mission. We are so dang excited for him. Congrats Joel, we love you!

Utah, here I come!!

So as most of you know, I will be going to Utah in exactly two weeks! I am so excited. I can't wait to see my family and the mountains. Here's a pic of what I will be enjoying shortly.... WAHOO!!

August Rush

James and I always have a Friday night date. This weekend we decided to stay in and just watch a movie. We watched August Rush because James had never seen it. I've seen it once and I loved it. Although it is a little far fetched and cheesy, I think the music and the story in it is awesome. Watching it made me so grateful for the music that I have in my life.

I grew up in a house where my mom had a song for anything and everything. She would sing to wake us up in the morning and she had a song to let us know when it was time to go to bed. At a young age I learned to appreciate music thanks to her. When I was about four years old I wanted to learn to play the violin so bad. I remember the Christmas that I got my first violin and the shiny white wrapping paper that it was wrapped in. Now that violin is no bigger than my forearm. I started taking lessons when I was four and loved it. I went through a phase (for about 6 years) that I didn't enjoy practicing and going to private lessons. But, my parents wouldn't let me quit. Finally, about my senior year of high school I started to enjoy playing a lot. I was in a violin group and we performed all the time.

I have now been playing the violin for 17 years. Although I don't practice all the time, I will never let myself give it up. I am so grateful to my parents for never letting me quit, even after all the grief that I gave them for it. Thanks Mom and Dad. I love you.

Golfing Buddies

So today was a sunny, hot day and we decided to go hit a bucket of balls at the driving range. I must say that I am a professional. Just kidding. But I have gotten much better since the first time I went to a driving range. Ya know the sound the club makes when you swing it through the air? Well James always makes that noise with his swing. I just figured out today that I am not good enough yet to have my club make that noise. James is a good teacher and I am finally getting the hang of hitting the ball. Surprisingly, about 90 percent of the balls I hit today went in the air!! If you are a beginner in golf then you know what a feat this is.

James got a little snap-happy with the camera, but it gives everyone a perspective on how lush and beautiful the golf courses here in Midland are. Oh no, I ended that sentence with a preposition!! Oh well. Anyway, we had a good time and I beat James at our "putt-off" contest, although he beat me at the "distance and aim" constest!

i feel much better today! i have food in my belly. yeah for food! so i took a picture of myself before i started this diet, and i took a picture today. i can't tell a difference because i see my face everyday. hmmmm.....Before

8 days into it

So Hungry.

So i'm on a new diet. Today is my "cleansing" day. I'm not supposed to eat anything all day, just drink this gross juice and tons of water. It has now been 29 hours since I have eaten solid food. Maybe I just need to go to bed so that tomorrow can get here quicker so I can eat!! I want a sandwich dang it!

Best New Band

So my favorite band right now is Vampire Weekend. If you haven't heard of them, then you are not an American. Just kidding... but really. I have a few of their songs in my playlist and if you like music then you need to check these guys out. Just listening to them puts a smile on my face.

On a complete different note, I just started this blog yesterday and I can't get enough!

Ok so I am in a book club here in Midland. I know I am a huge dork. This is our next book. I started reading it and I absolutely can't get into it. I don't care about how handsome Dorian Gray is, ya know? Should I give up now, or is it worth it to read the whole thing? Suggestions please...
