Weekend in Kaysville
Joel and James. (James wanted to do the dorkiest pose he could think of. I think he succeeded.)
James and his sweet mommy Suzanne

After the temple we went back to the house and hung out for a little while. That evening we went to see The Dark Knight. It was pretty good. Heath Ledger did amazing in it, but it was entirely too long and Batman's voice when he is in costume is ridiculous. Anyway, it was a fun evening.
On Sunday we all got up really early to take new family pictures in the front yard. I'm glad we did it in the morning because by last night I had a huge tumor (zit) on my chin. So fun. Joel's farewell was so special. He gave an awesome talk and sang with his good buddy. Lydia also surprised Joel by singing his favorite song. It was such a special sacrament meeting and I was so glad to be there with people that I love. Yesterday was filled with food and fun. We pretty much ate all day long and visited with eachother. And what would a Sunday in Kaysville be without a little Rock Band? Here are the rest of the pictures from the weekend:

cute Davis, he is showing us where his brains are
this is Joel's nightly skincare regimen. if you look closely you can see his retainer!

St. George Trip
We got back from St. George a couple of days ago. It was so relaxing and fun, minus the fact that I wanted to beat the crap out of my little brother atleast 5 times a day. He drives me absolutely crazy, but I do love him. Anyway, we had fun hanging out at the pool, playing games, and of course: going out to eat! Here are the pics:

Good News!
I don't have tuberculosis! YEAH! I was never worried that I had it, but I had to get the bubble shot under my skin just to make sure. I had to get my "nursing school physical" on Monday and wow have I realized that going to ANY doctor in Midland or Odessa Texas is a huge pain in my butt! I have to plan to be there for at least 3 or 4 hours. I hate Midland health care. I really hope that we are back in Utah by the time we decide to have babies. Anyway, so I turned in all my paperwork to Midland College and all that is left to do is actually register for classes!

i'm embarrassed....
to even be watching the New Kids On The Block new music video. don't get me wrong, their singing is fine. but to see them frolicking on the beach with girls half their age and their shirts unbuttoned is embarrassing for me to even watch by myself. yup, this is what i do in the morning after james goes to work. i get up, eat a bowl of cereal and veg on the couch flipping channels between music videos and hgtv design shows. i am a big lame-o face. oooooh- alicia keys just came on! ;)

I've Been Tagged
What did you do 10 years ago? Let's see, 10 years ago I was approximately 11 years old and in the 5th grade. (James makes a grossed out face at this fact, cuz 10 years ago for him he was just getting his driver's license.) I had a crush on this lurp with a huge head and glasses and I pretended to love the Utah Jazz even though secretly I really loved the Chicago Bulls.
Five items on my to-do list? Hmmm.... get a new plant so Josie can be an outside plant, read the Book of Mormon, fix and paint our entertainment center, go on a cruise (when i graduate), and save money.
Snacks I enjoy? Wo, I will try to keep this to a minimum: BLUEBELL ICE CREAM, chocolate, chips, cookies, anything sweet, chewy, crunchy, tangy, sour, or chocolate....
What would I do if I were a billionaire? I would make James quit his job so he will live longer. I would buy a house and pay off all our's and our families' debt. I would travel the earth with my honey.
Places I would live? Utah, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Las Vegas, St. George, Phoenix, Reno, Boise, Portland.... pretty much anywhere close to my family.
Jobs I have had? Knightsbridge telephone surveyor: I would call people after they got their cars serviced to see if their service was satisfactory. Training Table busser: I worked a total of four shifts I think. Hated it! United Healthcare insurance claims scanner: I would literally have a stack of insurance claims that I would put on a huge scanner and push the green button. I made awesome money and I got to listen to cute Venezuelan ladies argue in espanol and listen to bachata music all day! Gap: folded clothes, pretended to be interested in peoples' outfits. Research assistant: by far the best job I've ever had. I got to work with first-time mom's through their entire pregnancy. I drew their blood and went to their deliveries. I also got to draw cord blood and cut up their placentas! Yummy! And once again, The Gap.

Aaaah, Midland
We have been in Midland now for over a year. There are so many things that I really love about this place:
My school. As everybody knows, I got accepted to nursing school here. When we lived in Utah I really didn't know how I was going to get into a school because every woman and their dog wanted to be a nurse so every school was extremely competitive. But here, I have just worked hard and got in. I can't believe my dream of becoming a nurse is finally becoming a reality.

"When you give blood everybody wins!"
Ok I know it's Wordless Wednesday, but I just had to blog. Guess what I did?? I donated blood. Our stake had a blood drive and I like to donate whenever I can, so I went. When I walked in the church I saw one of the little girls in my ward. She was sitting in a chair, ghostly white, with icepacks all around her neck. It brought back memories of this one time when I was in the ER getting an IV and James passed out. Funny story: I had a kidney stone last October so I spent many days in the emergency room. I was getting an IV and James was sitting in the corner, not even looking. I looked over at James and he was completely white. He raised his hand in the air and said, "I'm going to pass out." And then sure enough, he did. Afterwards I sent him out to get some food. I'm scared for when we have kids.
