trains, temples, and total meltdowns

a couple days before i left utah we rode trax down to temple square. we knew the kidlets would love riding the train and i really wanted to see the temple before i left. so off we went. gabe had a few meltdowns which are illustrated in some of the pictures. and i had only a slight one with Jacob (see previous post).

Curly:
Meltdown #1: (awesome)
Now look closely at these next pictures. There is a slight difference in the emotional state between the two models:

On the way home Gabe was exhausted. Mom took our picture and he didn't even have enough energy to turn his eyes toward the camera. I actually think it is mostly because he is a stinker.

Yesterday we decided to do something totally out of the ordinary for our family. We went up to the mountains and went for a hike. Weird, I know. We went to Brighton and the weather was b-e-a-u-tiful. Jacob, Sarah, and I were smushed into the back of my dad's car so we decided to take some really pretty pictures:sarah reminds me of that dead girl from "The Ring" in the very beginning when they find her in the closet. Yeah, you know you see it too.

classic.

And Jacob's lips were really chapped so my mom gave him some tinted chapstick to put on them.
He looked like he was wearing lipstick.
Then we finally got there and took some "for-real" pretty pictures:

pictures!

Here are some fun pics from yesterday. Gabey had just woken up from a nap in a bunch of them, so please excuse the blank stares. And some are blurry, but still cute.

And yesterday Donny's sister got married. So I, of course, had to get some cute pictures of Sophi and Gabey in their outfits.

i had super good intentions...

I go to the gym Monday through Thursday with my great friend Stephanie. Today we got to the gym to do our body combat class (this is definitely not our favorite class). Our usual teacher wasn't there, (can you see where this is going??), and we were both not in the mood to punch and kick the air, so we ditched class before it even started for something delicious and quite the opposite of working out. A Chick-fil-a cookies and cream milkshake was the perfect "ditch your Wednesday gym class" treat. I don't even feel bad, not even a little.

the party is on its way

I am one day away from being done with school for the summer. Yeehaw! I am two days away from seeing my babies and the rest of my family. Double yeehaw! I am, of course, so sad to leave James here all by his lonesome for two whole weeks. What will he do without me? (play basketball everyday, eat pizza everyday, watch ESPN till his heart is content, watch as many western's as he pleases...) I know, he will probably just wallow in his misery. Mom and Dad, I hope you are ready for me. The party is on her way.

impromptu trip to Dallas

James and I both had Tuesday off this week, so we decided to take a quick trip out of this island of Midland and go to Dallas. It was super fun. We ate at an incredible seafood restaurant: Pappadeaux, we were in heaven. We went to Ikea, I was in heaven. We went to Dick's Sporting Goods, James was in heaven. We went to the Dallas temple, (we are convinced) that our table (see pictures below) from Ikea would not have fit in our car if we wouldn't have. We saw the new Terminator, we were both in heaven. We went to the Cheesecake Factory, heaven. I was a slacker about taking pictures so all we have are pictures of us in the car, on the way there, and on the way back.

so excited!
this was really scary. on the way there we drove into a huge rainstorm. we literally could not see the cars in front of us. don't worry dad, we pulled over.
the next few pictures are on the way home from dallas. i had to drive because the table had to go behind my seat and i had to be all up in the steering wheel's business. i am a little bit smaller than james.
i look like a freak:

on my final descent

I am almost done with this semester... 12 days to be exact. Hallelujah!

Thursday, May 21, 2009

dear psycho zumba lady,

you drive me crazy. zumba is always a crowded class, so if you are late, stand in the freakin' back.... and try not to be so oblivious to the people around you. really, do you have to have a six foot radius in which to flail your arms and legs about in, really? well if you do, then STAND IN THE BACK! must you put your water bottle in the middle of the floor and dance around it? one of these days i am going to kick it over, you just watch. and why oh why do you always have to stand all up in my business? i am not a violent person, but when you walk in to an hour-long class forty-five minutes late and decide to stand literally right where i am standing, i want to punch you in the face.

there, i feel better. :)

it's been so long

I haven't been blogging as much as I'd like to lately. My life is consumed right now with school, church, and work. I go to school all day and then come home and study my butt off... literally, ... okay not literally. That would be quite a feat. And yet, I still find time to take ugly pictures of myself and upload them to the blog and then write about them. Priorities people.

Happy Birthday & Mother's Day

Today my sweet hubby turns one year older. Here comes the cheese:

James, you are the love of my life and my best friend. I am extremely grateful to have you in my life. You are so incredibly sweet. I am so lucky that you are stuck with me forever. I love you mucho mucho.

Sorry, but it had to be done. Birthday week has been really fun. James got to pick the music we listen to and the movies we watch. We went and saw Star Trek on Thursday. It was awesome. My only criticism is that James Kirk is hid (short for hideous). He reminds me of the alien on Men In Black when the wife says, "Your skin is hangin' off of your bones" and then the alien pulls his skin tight and says "Is that better?". Yes, that is exactly what he looks like.

Anyway... James got the new D. Williams basketball shoes from yours truly. He loves them. He loves shoes... way more than I love shoes. I told him that he doesn't even have to wear them, he can just "shrine" them. And he wanted carrot cake for his birthday. I was not too excited about this, but it turned out absolutely DE-lish.
so happy!

count 'em, there's 27!

Today is also Mother's Day. Oh how I love my mother. She is the most wonderful woman on the planet. She puts up with four crazy kids and my dad with a smile on her face. She is always willing to serve and help others. She is one of the greatest examples for me on how to be an awesome woman and mother. I love you mom!
